With the aim of fostering new bonds and friendships that will make a positive impact on the lives of Abu Dhabi’s community seniors and residents, the ‘Generational Journey’ project gathered youth volunteers, pairing them with community seniors to share their dreams and hopes in return for the life experience, advice, and guidance of the community seniors.
Fifty volunteers participated through volunteers.ae platform, spending their morning with 30 selected community seniors and residents
The ‘Generational Journey’ program intends to promote intergenerational integration through encouraging a more active lifestyle and increasing levels of social interaction in the lives of community seniors and residents.
The program will be running every Saturday for a full month in Yas Mall and will later expand to various other places across Abu Dhabi.
The launch was a huge success owing to the support of event partners Yas Mall, Burjeel Hospital, Family Development Foundation, Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund, and Emirates Foundation.
